"Maybe Job? Job is allegorical, admittedly so in christian doctrine, but is stuck in the middle of what is supposed to be entirely believed as factually and historically true. Worse even, it attempts (and utterly fails) to explain why bad things happen to good people. God behaves like a gambling addict, willingly destroying a man's entire life for no reason at all because the devil wanted to play a game (which God has no restraint from resisting). In the end, the lesson is god is unknowable so just be fine with it."
